It’s the inaugural SkyDogCon — we wouldn’t miss it for the world. SkyDog is the friendly, muscular gentleman at the hacker conferences with the soothing southern baritone. He and SomeNinja are two of the nicest guys I’ve had the pleasure to know, and I am excited to be a part of SkyDogCon.
In other excellent news, my good friend Chris will be giving a talk and the homie CP from DC-949 will be facilitating the parties. See you all there

We had a lot of fun this past week. On Saturday, October 8th, Remington Forbes and I rocked out with Ruckus Roboticus at DayCon V in Dayton, OH. It’s always a pleasure to kick it with the folks in the woh.rr.com area ;]
I was also interviewed on two separate podcasts this past week.
Most recently I was interviewed by Thomas Gideon of The Command Line Podcast. This was a pretty challenging interview as Thomas is quite articulate and asked insightful questions that really made me think about why we make Dual Core music. Of course, we do it for the lulz as it’s obviously fun, but there were several aspects behind the drive that I hadn’t really considered in the past, and Thomas did a great job in evoking some elaboration on those.
The other podcast was Linux For The Rest Of Us. This was a more lighthearted discussion about how I use Dual Core to goof off. Ok it was more about how much fun it is to be a part of Dual Core and how fortunate I feel for everything. There is also some tech discussion so if you want more substance than just me ranting about how much I love hip hop, definitely check out this podcast as well.
Next up: Hack3rcon in WV, and of course, hacking all the things

We had the incredible privilege to play a show at the Nagios World Conference in Minneapolis/St. Paul last night, and it was outstanding! The crowd was great, and it was very cool to talk with so many folks who run Nagios.
Quick aside: Setting up Nagios to monitor part of our environment was my first project as a security operations intern when I was in school. It’s impressive how far the software has come in the years since then.
We had so much fun at the Nagios World Conference; we hope to be back next year! Over 9000 thank-yous to the folks from Nagios!
