A rather flattering review of Next Level was dropped on us by none other than Hex of Nerdapalooza. As Nerdapalooza is one of the quintessential nerd music festivals, it is recommended that the A-game be brought in all dealings with Hex and the crew. Fortunately, that seems to be what we bring, on each album apparently:
I have been a fan of these guys since the drop of their first album, Zero One.
It (Next Level) is an amazing album, but frankly it NEEDED to be if it was going to be able to compete with Lost Reality
I am back from Defcon and it was all sorts of awesome. Plenty of info to post (heck I haven’t even posted about Nerdapalooza yet!) so please stand by for incoming transmissions :]
Nerdapalooza is right around the corner, and I am super excited. A good deal of uncertainty surrounded the event last year: Would fans/artists show up? Would everyone get along? Would it be fun? I wasn’t sure what to expect.
To say the least, Nerdapalooza was amazing. My contemporaries all turned out to be friendly nerds who enjoyed having fun. The show was fantastic as everyone loved our music. Three separate people wanted to introduce Dual Core to the crowd (Anthony of GM4A, MC Coolwhip, and ColonP); which was augmented by a surprise fourth introduction by the Godfather of Nerdcore, MC Frontalot.
I am expecting another amazing event this coming weekend. In fact, I am so excited that I am bringing a few “treats” to Nerdapalooza. You won’t be disappointed if you are a Dual Core fan and in attendance. I hope you don’t miss out :]
If you weren’t at Nerdapalooza last year, you really need to be there this year. Albeit early, already confirmed for this year are Beefy, STD, and Grammy nominee Devo Spice among others. Last year was epic, to say the least, so it should be short of no expectation that this year should be OVER 9000.
The latest review of Lost Reality comes to us from hex at Nerdapalooza. This review is more in the form of a summary, with feedback on the album overall. Hex highlights what he likes best about the album and why he thinks it’s some of the best music of 2008. This is one of my favorite parts:
In journalism, there’s an appropriate heuristic to point out right now: once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, and three times is a trend. Well, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to announce that with the evidence heard on Lost Reality, it should no longer be a question if these guys are here to stay and rock this scene. You need to get a copy of this album and hear for yourself what the buzz is all about in these guys.
If ever there were doubts about your acquisition of Lost Reality, now is the time to read this review.
