This is a fundraiser for the EFF. They are the awesome folks who protect researchers like myself. They also fought to make it legal to jailbreak your phone. If you’re in the DC area, come out and say hi!
We are playing a live set along with Adam WarRock, and there will may be an additional freestyle set in there. No promises, but be sure to recommend it to Adam when you’re there ;]
The Summit is an event in Vegas to kick off Defcon every year. This is the first time the hosting group, Vegas 2.0, is doing an additional Summit. With your admission, you receive a 1-year membership to the EFF. As a result, admission is $45. Check out http://eff.org for more info about the great work you’ll be supporting.

ShmooCon was awesome. We got into town on Thursday and right away encountered familiar, friendly faces. The DC-949 folks took me over to hang out at HacDC. While walking into the building, I was greeted and invited to play a show the following night (previously unscheduled).
The show Friday night was a blast. Holt, Keith, and Just Joshin were spinning. They plugged the mic up, the crowd formed in front of the pews, and I played a fast but energetic set. Did I mention that HacDC is at a church and I was rapping from the pulpit? I really enjoyed the whole night getting to make new friends and hang out with such awesome people. I also enjoyed when my mic cable came unplugged during the Dual Core song ;]
Saturday’s show kicked the energy level right back up. We played at Chloe’s which was a pretty nice venue that was packed full of ShmooCon attendees. Unfortunately the cordless mic did not work, but we were able to run my 25′ XLR cable down from the DJ booth upstairs and I rapped in front of the bar. It is always quite surreal being surrounded by people all getting into our music. I spent the rest of the night having a great time with my good friends from hak5, SkyDog and Lady Merlin from Phreaknic, my family from DC-949, and my comrades in life (the ShmooCon attendees).
The people in the audience were outstanding and really made the shows fun. They put their fists up, shouted out the words to the songs, and gave me inspiration for the freestyles. We couldn’t do it without you all, thank you so much. Many thanks also go to Bruce and Heidi Potter for bringing me out to ShmooCon and showing me a great time.
Pictures are up on the ShmooCon 5 photos page. Additionally a gentleman at the Saturday show snapped some great shots which can be seen on his Flickr ShmooCon set.
I hope to see all of you again at ShmooCon 6 in 2010!
